Chemical descaling cleaning process:

Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid washing decreases to a certain level, the acidic solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down, and it is complex and costly.

Open Path Cleaning

No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the gray pipe. This process requires additional cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous Operation Cleaning

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally without interruption, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash-pipe running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent. This is an open-circuit cleaning method. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water and reducing the occurrence of air blockages, ensuring the quality of ash-pipe cleaning.

Operation procedure: Prior to cleaning, estimate the required acid quantity based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the ash conveying pipe, taking into account the gray water flow rate and acidity. During the cleaning process, collect and test the acidity at the ash pipe's sampling point every 30 minutes. Control the acidity by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stages of cleaning, test the pH value at the end of the ash pipe every 15 minutes. Once the pH value reaches a certain level and remains constant for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning is efficient, cost-effective, non-damaging to workpieces, environmentally friendly, easy to operate, and safe.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.

(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: High-pressure water jet cleaning of pipe and heat exchanger bores can thoroughly remove scale and obstructions inside, revealing the metal surface. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic speed, is fully capable of destroying hard scale and obstructions without causing any damage to the metal.

Since the pressure of high-pressure water is less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined effects of jet washing, wedging, shearing, and abrasion, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.

Additionally, parts cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface chemical must be rinsed off with clean water.

It also does not produce a significant amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. 3. Pipe Scale

(1) Categorized by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts of calcium and magnesium present in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times less than that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can also easily cause metal materials to burn out due to localized overheating, potentially leading to pipe explosion accidents; it accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion, and speeds up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
