Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash piping lines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain acidity concentration is added, and it circulates through the ash water pipeline for cleaning. As the acid washing decreases to a certain level, the acid solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown, and it is complex and costly.

Preliminary Cleaning

No two gray pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only single-pipe open-loop cleaning is allowed. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then injecting it into the gray pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires adding cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous cleaning without downtime

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while running the ash conveying pipe, simultaneously adding a specified quantity of ash conveying pipe cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent. This is an open-loop cleaning process. The main function of the cleaning additive is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of air blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the sludge pipe operation for the addition of cleaning inhibitors and pipeline descaler based on the gray water flow and acidity. During the cleaning process, collect a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity, and strictly control the acidity by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stages of cleaning, collect a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.


2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
Advantages of high-pressure water technology include:

(1) High-quality cleaning - During the high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipe and heat exchanger bores, it can completely remove scaling and blockages from inside the pipes, revealing the metal substrate. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic speed, can completely destroy hard scaling and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.

The high-pressure water's pressure is less than the metal's pressure resistance grade, thus high-pressure cleaning will not damage the substrate being cleaned.

(2) Rapid Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined crushing actions of water jet scouring, splitting, shearing, and grinding, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to tens of times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.

Additionally, parts cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface chemical agents must be rinsed off with clean water.

(3) Non-Environmental Pollution: Since high-pressure water jet cleaning uses clean water as the medium, it does not produce a large amount of dust like sandblasting, grit-blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not generate a large volume of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning using clean water is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. Pipe Scale

(1) Categorized by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The primary components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively. Mixed scale is usually a mixture of the above three types.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easy to dislodge.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly worsens heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, even leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
