Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process
Recirculating closed-loop cleaning
Circulating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel deslagging pipelines to form a loop with the cleaning pump station, introducing a certain concentration of acidic solution. This solution circulates within the sludge water pipeline for cleaning purposes. As the acid washing reduces to a certain extent, the solution is continuously replenished with acid. For short-distance single sludge water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be installed to create a circulating loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown and is complex and costly.

Open-channel cleaning
No two gray pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe should be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the gray pipe. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous operation cleaning
The process involves continuously injecting a specific amount of acidic solution while also introducing a certain quantity of running ash pipe cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent. This is an open-circuit cleaning method. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing air blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the sludge pipeline cleaning inhibitor and pipeline stripping agent based on the gray water flow and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front sampling point of the gray pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the gray pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
Advantages of high-pressure water technology include:
(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: The high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipeline and heat exchanger bores can completely remove all scaling and blockages inside, revealing the metal substrate. With its immense energy and supersonic speed, the high-pressure water jet is fully capable of destroying hard scaling and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.
Since the pressure of high-pressure water is less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned.
(2) Rapid Cleaning Speed - Due to the combined crushing actions of water jetting, chipping, shearing, and abrasion, scale can be quickly disintegrated and removed, which is several to tens of times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.
Additionally, components cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; whereas, after chemical cleaning, the surface chemical agents need to be rinsed off with clean water.

(3) No Environmental Pollution: As high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not generate a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not produce a large amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water as the medium is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, it can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ with other methods to below the national safety standards, thus causing no pollution.

Pipe Scale
(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is usually a mixture of the above three types of scales.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and tube walls, and sludge that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, potentially leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
