Chemical cleaning descaling process:
Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning
Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel deslagging pipelines to form a loop with the cleaning pump station, introducing a certain concentration of acidic solution, which circulates within the sludge water pipes for cleaning. As the acid cleaning decreases to a certain level, acid is continuously replenished. For short-distance single sludge water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to create a recirculating loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown, and it is complex and costly.
Open Channel Cleaning
No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then injecting it into the gray pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires additional cleaning equipment during shutdown, resulting in higher costs.
Continuous operation cleaning
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally without interruption, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash-pipe running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent for open-circuit cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water and reducing the occurrence of air blockages, ensuring the quality of ash-pipe cleaning.
Operation method: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the addition of cleaning inhibitors and pipeline descaler according to the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the flow rate of acid addition. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.
2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.
(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: The high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipeline and heat exchanger bores can completely remove scale and blockages inside, revealing the metal substrate. With immense energy and moving at supersonic speeds, the high-pressure water jet is fully capable of destroying hard scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.
Due to the pressure of high-pressure water being less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned.
(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined crushing effects of water jet scouring, splitting, shearing, and grinding, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.
Components cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface must be rinsed with clean water.
(3) No Environmental Pollution - Since high-pressure water jet cleaning uses clean water as the medium, it does not produce a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. Nor does it generate a large amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with clean water as the medium is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, it can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ with other methods to below the national safety standards, thus causing no pollution.

3. Pipe Scale
(1) Classified by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.
(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easy to dislodge.
Scale is primarily formed by the salts containing calcium, magnesium, and other elements in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. Scale deposited on the boiler heating surface greatly deteriorates the heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to local overheating, even leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline scale corrosion, and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using either mechanical or chemical methods.
