Chemical cleaning descaling process:

Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel deslagging pipelines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates within the sludge water pipes for cleaning. As the acid cleaning reaches a certain level, the acidic solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single sludge water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown and is complex and costly.

Open road cleaning

No two ash pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe can be used for open-circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the ash pipe. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous cleaning without shutdown

This process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic fluid while operating the ash conveying pipes, simultaneously adding a specified quantity of ash conveying pipe cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent for open-loop cleaning. The primary role of the cleaning additives is to facilitate the reaction between the acidic fluid and ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing their solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of airlock, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is: Prior to cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the injection of the corrosion inhibitor and pipeline cleaner stripping agent according to the sludge flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, collect and test the acidity at the sampling point at the front of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes, and strictly control the acidity by adjusting the flow rate of acid addition. In the later stages of cleaning, test the pH value at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning process can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning is efficient, cost-effective, non-damaging to workpieces, environmentally friendly, easy to operate, and safe.
Advantages of high-pressure water technology include:

(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: The high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipes and heat exchanger bores can thoroughly remove all scale and blockages inside, revealing the metal surface. With its immense energy and supersonic speed, the high-pressure water jet is fully capable of destroying hard scale and blockages, yet it has no detrimental effect on metal.

The high-pressure water pressure is less than the compressive strength grade of the metal, so high-pressure cleaning will not damage the cleaned substrate.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined action of jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and grinding, scale can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning process several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

Additionally, parts cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface must be rinsed with clean water.

(3) No Environmental Pollution: As high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not produce a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the air and harm health. It also does not generate a significant amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water as the medium is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, it can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ with other methods to below the national safety standards. Therefore, it does not cause any pollution.


Pipe Scale

(1) Categorized by chemical composition, it includes carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: hard scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and loose sediment that is easy to dislodge.
Scale is primarily formed by the salts of calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. Scale deposited on the boiler's heating surface greatly deteriorates heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn out due to local overheating, even leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
