Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process
Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning
Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash piping lines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid washing reaches a certain level, the acidic solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down, and it is complex and costly.
Open Channel Cleaning
No two ash pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe should be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the blending tank, and then injecting it into the ash pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.
Continuous cleaning without downtime
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally without interruption. Simultaneously, a specific quantity of ash pipe operation cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent is added, followed by an open circuit cleaning. The main function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of gas blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Prior to cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the injection of the cleaning and corrosion inhibitor into the sludge conveying pipe based on the sludge flow rate and acidity. During the cleaning process, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, test the pH value at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental protection, ease of operation, and safety.
The advantages of high-pressure water technology are as follows.
(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: High-pressure water jet cleaning of pipe and heat exchanger bores can thoroughly remove scale and blockages inside, revealing the metal substrate. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic movement, can completely destroy hard scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.
High-pressure water cleaning will not damage the base material to be cleaned, as the pressure is less than the compressive strength grade of metal.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined action of water jet washing, splitting, shearing, and grinding, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to tens of times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, ball-blasting, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.
Components cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface must be rinsed with clean water.

(3) No Environmental Pollution - As high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not produce large amounts of dust like sandblasting or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the air and harm health. Nor does it generate large quantities of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet, using pure water, is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, it can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ using other methods to below the national safety standards, thus causing no pollution.

Pipe Scale
(1) Classified by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is usually a mixture of the above three types.
(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and tube walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water precipitating and adhering to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times less than that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it severely deteriorates heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can also easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, potentially leading to pipe explosion accidents; it accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion, and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
