MBR Membrane Bioreactor

Product Overview:
An integrated unit for wastewater treatment and reuse using MBR membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology, featuring all the advantages of a membrane bioreactor: high-quality effluent, low operating costs, strong system resilience, minimal sludge generation, and high level of automation. Additionally, as an integrated unit, it has a small footprint and is easy to integrate. It can serve as a small-scale wastewater reuse system or as the core treatment unit in larger wastewater treatment plants (stations), and is currently a hot topic in wastewater treatment research, with a broad application prospect.
Operating Principle:
The Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) process is a novel wastewater treatment technology that combines membrane separation technology with biotechnology. It utilizes membrane separation equipment to retain active sludge and large molecular organic substances in the biochemical reaction tank, eliminating the need for a secondary sedimentation tank. As a result, the concentration of active sludge is significantly increased, and the hydraulic retention time (HRT) and sludge retention time (SRT) can be separately controlled. Meanwhile, difficult-to-degrade substances continuously react and degrade within the reactor.
Therefore, the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) process significantly enhances the functionality of bioreactors through membrane separation technology. Compared to traditional biological treatment methods, it is one of the promising new technologies for wastewater treatment.
The basic structure is as shown in the diagram below:

Equipment Performance Parameters:
The core component of the MBR integrated equipment is the membrane bioreactor, with the following requirements for the incoming water quality:
COD<500mg/L BOD5<300mg/L
SS<100mg/L NH3-N<50mg/L
E. coli count < 10,000 CFU/L
The integrated equipment can flexibly configure the process flow based on the quality of raw water, making the equipment highly adaptable. It can directly treat domestic wastewater to meet the standards for non-potable water.
Water Output Quality:
Water output quality meets domestic non-potable water standards.
COD<50mg/L BOD5<10mg/L
SS<10mg/L NH3-N<10mg/L
E. coli count < 3 colonies/L
Typical Process Flow:
The process flow of the MBR integrated equipment for treating domestic wastewater is illustrated as follows:

In other wastewater treatment processes, the required treatment can be achieved by adding corresponding treatment units, such as adding pretreatment systems for oil and solids removal to ensure the raw water entering the MBR meets its inflow requirements. Post-treatment systems can also be added; for instance, if the effluent needs to be reused in the production process, a reverse osmosis desalination system can be added according to the production process requirements.
Adjustments to the handling units can also be made according to customer requirements.
