Chemical cleaning descaling process:

Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash piping lines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid washing reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished with more acid. For short-distance single ash water pipes, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is offline, and it is complex and costly.

Pilot cleaning

No two ash pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then injecting it into the ash pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous cleaning without shutdown

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash-pipe running cleaner corrosion inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent. This is an open-circuit cleaning method. The primary role of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing airlock occurrences, and ensuring the quality of ash-pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, estimate the required acid quantity based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the washing inhibitor and pipeline descaler addition based on the sludge flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, collect a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, collect a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers high efficiency, low costs, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.

(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality - The high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipelines and heat exchanger bores can remove all scale and obstructions from inside the pipes, revealing the metal substrate. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic movement, is fully capable of destroying hard scale and obstructions without causing any damage to the metal.

Since the pressure of high-pressure water is less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base being cleaned.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined fracturing effects of water jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and abrasion, scale can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning speed several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot blasting techniques, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

Additionally, parts cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface chemical must be rinsed off with clean water.

(3) No Environmental Pollution: As high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not produce a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the air and harm health. It also does not generate a significant amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: a) Scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and b) Sediment that is loosely textured and easy to detach.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium present in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, potentially leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
