Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process

Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculation cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash discharge pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulating system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain acidity concentration is added, and it circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid cleaning reaches a certain level, the acid solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a circulating loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down and is complex, with higher costs.

Preliminary Cleaning

During cleaning, no two ash pipes should form a loop; only a single ash pipe should be used for open-loop cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit and continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the liquid storage tank, then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the ash pipe. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, resulting in higher costs.

Continuous Cleaning Without Shutdown

The process involves continuously injecting a specific quantity of acid solution while also introducing a certain amount of slurry pipe operation cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaler, performing open-circuit cleaning. The main function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acid solution and scale in a solution with a specific concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing air blockage, and ensuring the quality of slurry pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the sludge pipe operation by considering the gray water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

(1) Classified by chemical composition, it can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.
