Chemical cleaning descaling process:
Recirculating Closed Circuit Cleaning
Recirculation cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain concentration is added, which circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid cleaning reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to create a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down, and it is complex and costly.
Open Channel Cleaning
No two ash pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe should be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit and continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, then injecting it into the ash pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires adding cleaning equipment during shutdown, which is more costly.
Continuous cleaning without downtime
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is running normally without interruption, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash-pipe running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent, and performing an open-circuit cleaning. The main function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of gas blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaning agent based on the flow rate of the sludge water and the acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the flow rate of acid addition. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.
2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental protection, ease of operation, and safety.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.
(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: The high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipe and heat exchanger bores can completely remove scale and blockages inside, revealing the metal substrate. With its immense energy and ultra-sonic speed, the high-pressure water jet is capable of destroying tough scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.
High-pressure water cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned, as the pressure is less than the compressive strength grade of the metal.
(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined action of water jet washing, wedging, shearing, and grinding, scale can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning process several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual methods.
Parts cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface chemical must be rinsed off with clear water.
(3) Environmentally Friendly: As high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not produce a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not generate a significant amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water as the medium is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, it can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ using other methods to below the national safety standards, thus causing no pollution.

Pipe Scale
(1) Categorized by chemical composition, they can be divided into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.
(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: hard scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and tube walls, and loose sediment that is easy to detach.
Scale is primarily formed by the salts containing calcium, magnesium, and other minerals in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, about 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. The formation of scale on the boiler's heating surface significantly worsens heat transfer efficiency, affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to local overheating, even leading to tube explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
