Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process
Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning
Recirculating cleaning utilizes two original parallel deslagging pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulating system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, allowing it to circulate and clean within the sludge water pipes. As the acid washing reaches a certain level, the acidic solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single sludge water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a circulating loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown, is complex, and has a higher cost.
Open Channel Cleaning
No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the gray pipe. This process requires adding cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.
Continuous cleaning without shutdown
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while operating, without interrupting the normal ash transportation in the ash pipe. Simultaneously, a specific quantity of ash pipe running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent is added for open-circuit cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of air blockages, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, estimate the required acid quantity based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the sludge pipeline by considering the gray water flow and acidity. During the cleaning process, take a sample at the front end of the gray pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the latter stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the gray pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.
2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning is efficient, cost-effective, non-damaging to workpieces, environmentally friendly, easy to operate, and safe.
Advantages of high-pressure water technology include:
(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality - High-pressure water jet cleaning of pipes and the inner holes of heat exchangers can completely remove scale and obstructions from within the tubes, revealing the metal substrate. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and ultra-sonic speed, can fully break down tough scale and obstructions without causing any damage to the metal.
Since the pressure of the high-pressure water is less than the pressure resistance grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned.
(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined actions of jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and abrasive cutting, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning speed several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual methods.
Components cleaned with high-pressure water jet do not require a second cleaning process; chemical cleaning, however, necessitates rinsing the surface with clear water.
(3) No Environmental Pollution - Since high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not generate large amounts of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the air and harm health. It also does not produce a significant amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water as the medium is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, the spray can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ with other methods to below the national safety standards, thus causing no pollution.

Pipe Scale
(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.
(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times less than that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can also easily damage metal materials due to localized overheating, potentially leading to pipe explosion accidents; it accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion, and speeding up the deterioration of the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
