Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculation cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash piping lines to form a circuit, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates and cleans within the ash water pipes. Additionally, as the acid washing decreases to a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished with more acid. For short-distance single ash water pipes, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation circuit for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down and is complex, with higher costs.

Open Road Cleaning

No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only single-pipe open-loop cleaning is allowed. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit and continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, then injecting it into the gray pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, resulting in higher costs.

Continuous operation cleaning

This process involves continuously injecting a specific quantity of acidic solution while operating under the normal ash transportation condition of the ash pipe without interruption. Simultaneously, a certain amount of ash transportation pipeline cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent are added for operation. An open-circuit cleaning is conducted. The main function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while increasing its solubility in water and reducing the generation of air resistance, ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, estimate the required acid quantity based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaning agent by considering the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, test the pH value at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning machinery
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.

(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: High-pressure water jet cleaning of pipe and heat exchanger bores can thoroughly remove scale and blockages inside, revealing the metal surface. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic speed, is fully capable of destroying hard scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.

High-pressure water cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned, as the pressure is less than the compressive strength grade of the metal.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined effects of jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and grinding, scale can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning process several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

(3) No Environmental Pollution: Since high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not generate a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not produce a large amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water as the medium is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After atomization, the emitted jet can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust from 80mg/m³ with other methods to below the national safety standards. Therefore, it does not cause any pollution.

3. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is usually a mixture of the above three types.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and tube walls, and sludge that is loosely textured and easily detachable.
Scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water precipitating and adhering to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, around 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. When scale accumulates on the boiler's heat transfer surface, it significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily lead to the deterioration of metal materials due to localized overheating, even causing pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, leading to pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heat transfer surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
