Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process

Recirculating Closed Circuit Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash line pipes to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid washing reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished with more acid. For short-distance single ash water pipes, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be installed to create a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out when the system is shut down, and it is complex and costly.

Open Path Cleaning

No two ash pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe should be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the ash pipe. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases the cost.

Continuous operation cleaning

The process involves continuously injecting a specific quantity of acidic solution while simultaneously introducing a certain amount of slurry pipe operating cleaner and pipeline descaler. This is an open-loop cleaning process. The primary role of the cleaning additive is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water and reducing the occurrence of air blockages, ensuring the quality of the ash pipe cleaning.

Operation method: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaning agent based on the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front sampling point of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jetting for cleaning offers high efficiency, low costs, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety advantages.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.

(1) High-quality Cleaning: During the high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipes and heat exchanger bores, all scaling and blockages within the pipes can be thoroughly removed, revealing the metal surface. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic movement, is fully capable of destroying hard scaling and blockages, but it has no damaging effect on metal.

Due to the pressure of high-pressure water being less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined action of jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and grinding, scale can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning process several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

3. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.
