Recirculating Closed Circuit Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, and the ash water flows in a recirculation pattern for cleaning. Additionally, acid is continuously replenished as the acid washing decreases to a certain level. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown and is complex, with higher costs.

Preliminary Cleaning

No two grey pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single grey pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the grey pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the grey pipe. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, resulting in higher costs.

Continuous operation cleaning

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally without interruption, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash pipe operation cleaning inhibitor and pipeline cleaning descaler for open-loop cleaning. The primary role of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing airlock occurrences, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaning agent based on the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During the cleaning process, take a sample at the sampling point at the front of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control the acidity by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
Advantages of high-pressure water technology include:

(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality - During high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipes and the internal cavities of heat exchangers, all scale and blockages within the pipes are thoroughly removed, revealing the metal substrate. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic speed, is fully capable of destroying hard scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.

Due to the pressure of high-pressure water being less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the substrate being cleaned.

(2) Rapid Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined crushing effects of water jet scouring, wedge splitting, shearing, and grinding, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.

It also does not generate a large volume of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. 3. Pipe Scale

(1) Categorized by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is often a mixture of the above three types.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: a) Scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and pipe walls, and b) Sediment that is loosely textured and easily detachable.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts of calcium and magnesium present in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. The accumulation of lime scale on the boiler's heating surface greatly impairs heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily lead to the burning of metal materials due to localized overheating, potentially causing tube burst accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, leading to pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the deterioration of the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
