The PTFE-lined reactor is suitable for producing various strong acids and bases. The external heating temperature must not exceed 180°C; the internal operating temperature should be ≤180°C. The heating rate should be slow; the temperature of the reactor can be gradually controlled by adjusting the external temperature through a PID temperature control system. Since both the stainless steel reactor body and the temperature measurement and protection tube are lined with PTFE, attention must be paid to the temperature difference between the external heating furnace and the internal temperature measured by the protection tube, as excessive external temperature can cause the PTFE lining to melt and deform. The PTFE-lined reactor should not be used for vacuum extraction; after the reaction is complete, wait for the temperature to drop and pressure to disappear before opening the lid to remove materials. Do not use valve opening to release gas and cool down, as this may vacuum out the PTFE lining.
