Elbows are a commonly used pipe fitting in plumbing installations, designed for connecting at pipe bends to alter the direction of the pipeline.
Other Names: 90° Elbow, Right Angle Bend, Elbow Love, Pressed Elbow, Forged Elbow, Machined Elbow, Welded Elbow, etc.
Purpose: To connect two pipes with the same or different nominal bore diameters, allowing the pipeline to make 90°, 45°, 180°, and various degrees of turns.
A bend is classified as a reducing bend if its radius is less than or equal to 1.5 times the pipe diameter, and as an elbow if its radius is greater than 1.5 times the pipe diameter.
