1) Suspended hardware, also known as supporting hardware or suspension clamp. This type of hardware is primarily used for hanging insulated conductor strings (commonly used on straight pole towers) and for suspending jumper wires on insulated conductor strings.
2) Anchor hardware, also known as tension hardware or wire clamp.
3) Connector hardware, also known as hanging wire components. This hardware is used for connecting insulators in series and for connecting hardware to hardware. It withstands mechanical loads.
4) Continuation Connectors. These connectors are used for joining various bare conductors and lightning conductors. They bear the same electrical load as conductors and most of these connectors bear the full tension of the conductors or lightning conductors.
