DELTA handheld XRF analyzer for testing alloys and metals
DELTA is well-versed in metals and alloys.
The DELTA portable XRF analyzer for alloy and metal detection provides highly precise material chemical composition information, quickly and accurately identifying alloy grades and pure metals. From simple sorting to challenging grade differentiation, from incoming material inspection to final product verification, DELTA delivers alloy chemical composition and grade identification information in seconds.
The DELTA analyzer comes with a standard package containing over 25 elements, capable of generating the chemical composition and grade information of alloys in just seconds. From simple sorting to challenging grade differentiation, DELTA provides highly precise material chemical compositions to quickly and accurately identify pure metals and alloy grades.
DELTA Analyzer's exclusive alloy analysisFeatures
DELTA is a reliable and durable analyzer with rapid and accurate testing. While other XRF systems may optimize certain performance aspects, they can compromise others. They can quickly identify alloys, but inexperienced operators might not be able to confirm the correct grade ID or if a longer testing time is needed. How can a diligent inspector increase testing speed without increasing the risk of incorrect grade identification or readings? Olympus' SmartSort solution automatically makes these decisions, allowing even unskilled operators to complete tests quickly and accurately. This powerful feature optimizes testing volume and accuracy, making DELTA an XRF analyzer that delivers high productivity for alloy testing.

DELTA for material composition identification
Utilizing the cutting-edge X-act counting technology
Super-light Element Analysis
Traditionally, analyzing lightweight alloys and elements (magnesium, aluminum, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur) has been a challenge for handheld XRF analyzers. Now, with the advent of X-act counting technology, DELTA XRF analyzers equipped with silicon drift detectors (SDD) can perform routine analysis on these lightweight elements. This analyzer, featuring a 40 kV rhodium X-ray tube and automatic filtering capabilities, can quickly and accurately analyze transition metals and heavy metals, as well as precisely measure the content of light elements. The SmartSort feature significantly enhances detection volume: it automatically extends or terminates the detection time based on the specific conditions of each sample, thereby improving accuracy and detection volume.
Advantages of DELTA SDD Analyzer
Magnesium (Mg) element detectable down to 0.20% content
Quickly and accurately measure the sulfur content in stainless steel and low-alloy steel.
-- Relyable identification of grades 303 and 416
Measure silicon and aluminum in stainless steel, bronze, and other alloys
Utilizing our exclusive 3-beam alloy reinforcement calibration feature, we can measure phosphorus content as low as 0.014% in carbon steel.
When rapid testing is required, combining the expanded part number library with SmartSort (Intelligent Sorting) functionality provides the chemical composition of lightweight elements.

The analysis results screen indicates the rated value as "3% aluminum" and the impurity element as "0.09% iron."
Impurity Element Library
Impurity element libraries have long been a standard feature in OES (Optical Emission Spectrometry) systems, with DELTA being one of the earliest portable XRF analyzers to offer this functionality.
Operators are permitted to set allowable content for individual elements within any of the 7 unique brand names. These elements are considered "impurity elements."
The DELTA analyzer is pre-loaded with a contamination element library based on industry standards.
The analyzer can identify and report impurity elements, eliminating the need for users to calculate the expected low concentration of impurities based on batch number information, thereby simplifying the batch number matching process.
Identify and quantify residual elements crucial for selective corrosion investigation and failure analysis
