Beam Coverage Scan Plan Development NDT SetupBuilder
NDT SetupBuilder design software is an essential component of Olympus' full line of automatic and semi-automatic ultrasonic inspection systems. NDT personnel can use this software to reduce the time needed to define appropriate inspection configurations for the OmniScan flaw detector, and can also avoid potential human configuration errors, ensuring that the inspection configurations meet the requirements of inspection standards.

General Interface
The NDT SetupBuilder software's interface is based on two grids: probe settings and groups. The purpose of the grid-based interface design is to quickly and intuitively present probes, wedges, positions, and beam parameters to users.
The software also includes additional interfaces for block and probe definition, as well as parameter validation.
The wedge menu allows users to access various wedges in the Olympus database and learn about the detailed characteristics of wedge models, including length, width, and height information. Through top, side, and end views, users can view images of the selected wedges.
Similarly, the probe interface allows users to access the Olympus database for probes and their corresponding parameters.
Regulators can utilize the PC-based NDT SetupBuilder software to define inspection techniques and set parameters for ultrasonic beam patterns for the inspections they need to perform. Regulators can define inspection techniques remotely or on-site without using the OmniScan instrument. More importantly, after defining the inspection techniques, configurations can be imported into OmniScan MX2 or OmniScan SX instruments, saving time on pre-inspection setup and avoiding potential human errors during configuration.
Composite Scanner
One composite scan covers an area equivalent to two sector scans.

The Olympus NDT SetupBuilder software update offers the performance for composite beam scanning. This innovative inspection strategy combines sectorial and linear beams for detection, featuring many advantageous characteristics, such as:
Higher detection rate
Inspect thicker materials
Faster detection speed
Shorter setup and calibration time
Faster data analysis
Tool Tip
Place the mouse cursor over certain items on the interface, such as tabs, toolbars, and dialog boxes, and a tooltip with explanatory notes will appear on the screen. Tooltips include clear images and descriptions of related features. The software is extremely easy to use, even for users with little experience.

2D and 3D image display
The Sound Beam Tracking View illustrates information about workpieces, probes, wedges, and assemblies in either 2D or 3D image formats. Display options include 2D side view, top view, and end view. The screen also shows interactive parameter configuration controls and probe chip information.
Not just a voice tracking tool

Export/Import Your Configuration and Group Descriptions
All configurations supported by OmniScan, as well as those created in NDT SetupBuilder, can be exported in the form of a .ondt setting file. The NDT SetupBuilder software can also be used as a focus law calculator. Configurations not supported by OmniScan can be exported as .law files.
Export your settings to a USB drive or an SD card, and then import them into the OmniScan instrument. Once the settings are imported into the instrument, there is no need to configure through the Detection Settings menu. Just complete the calibration, and the instrument is fully ready for testing.
