Elbows ( reducers ) are a type of pipe fitting used for different pipe diameters. Typically, the forming process involves reducing or expanding the diameter, or a combination of both, by means of pressing. For certain sizes of reducers, stamping forming can also be used.
Contraction/Expansion Forming
The reduction forming process for reducing sockets involves placing a tube blank with a diameter equal to the large end of the reducing socket into a forming die. Through pressing along the axial direction of the tube blank, the metal moves within the die cavity and shrinks into shape. The process is categorized into single or multi-stage forming based on the size of the diameter change in the reducing pipe.
b. Stamping成形
In addition to producing elbows using steel pipes as raw material, elbows of certain specifications can also be manufactured using steel plates through stamping forming processes. The shape of the punch mold used for stretching is designed based on the internal surface dimensions of the elbows, and the steel plates after cutting are stamped and stretched into shape using the punch mold.
