The semi-water and di-water wet process (also known as raw material) contains a high amount of SO₄²⁻, which, during the subsequent TBP extraction and purification process, will enter the loaded organic phase as H₂SO₄, resulting in a low purity of the final purified product. Therefore, it is necessary to remove most of the SO₄²⁻ from the wet process using chemical precipitation before solvent extraction.
The most efficient and cost-effective method currently is to add slurry to the wet process, allowing it to react for a period at 50-60°C. This causes SO₄²⁻ to form chemical precipitates, primarily as CaSO₄·0.5H₂O and CaSO₄·H₂O (referred to as gypsum), effectively removing SO₄²⁻ from the raw materials.
Due to the high viscosity of the slurry and the extremely fine particle size of the formed gypsum, natural sedimentation is very slow, making the subsequent pressure filtration process very difficult. Our company has developed the desulfurization sedimentation agent TSCJJ, which can significantly accelerate the sedimentation of fine gypsum particles during the desulfurization process, while also improving the desorption rate of SO₄²⁻ in the raw materials, ensuring the smooth progress of the subsequent TBP extraction and purification process.

Instructions for Use
Take 100ml of raw material, add 5g of mineral powder, stir, heat to 60°C, maintain and stir for 2 hours, then separately add 0.25g of desulfurization sedimentation agent and 0.5g of 0.5% non-ionic PAM, continue stirring for 1 minute, stop stirring, lower the temperature to around 50°C, maintain and let it settle for about 3 hours, the fine particles will settle completely, and the supernatant will be very clear. The effect of using the sedimentation agent is as shown in the figure below. The industrial process can be scaled up according to the above proportions.
