Lithium Extraction Principle
The active component in lithium extractants is an organic weak acid, which preferentially complexes with Li+ in an alkaline system, showing weaker complexing ability with Na+ and K+. Consequently, it exhibits a high Li/Na and Li/K separation factor. After the extraction reaction, a small amount of water or dilute acid is used to wash the loaded organic phase, removing Na+ and K+ carried over. Subsequently, a small amount of acid is used to desorb the washed loaded organic phase, yielding a solution with a high concentration of lithium, thereby achieving the separation and concentration of Li+ from Na and K. This solution with a high lithium concentration is then further utilized for the production of lithium carbonate, realizing the full utilization of lithium resources.
Due to the absence of easily hydrolysable and oxidizable functional groups in the main extractant and co-extractant molecules of the lithium extraction agent, its service life is long, and it maintains a low solubility loss rate consistently.
