When the external gas pressure increases, the piston or diaphragm inside the tank automatically moves inward, reducing the volume of the gas within to maintain a constant pressure. Conversely, when the external gas pressure decreases, the piston or diaphragm moves outward, increasing the volume of the gas inside to maintain a constant pressure.
