Battery recovery extraction tank (extraction box, extractor, and mixing clarifier) is a stepwise contact extraction equipment, consisting of a stirring system, mixing zone, clarification zone, and phase separation zone. In each stage, the two immiscible liquid phases will undergo stirring, mixing, clarification, and phase separation processes, thereby achieving mass transfer and separation of the target solute between different liquid phases.

Work Process
The specific operation process of the extraction tank (mixed clarification tank) involves the feed liquid and extractant being pumped into the mixing chamber through their respective feed ports by a feed pump. A high-speed stirrer then mixes the feed liquid and extractant for mass transfer. Subsequently, they flow through overflow baffles into the clarification chamber, where separation of the light and heavy phases occurs under gravity. The separated light and heavy phases then enter different outlets, completing one extraction cycle. In actual production, the extraction tank is typically a multi-stage series configuration, including extraction, back-extraction, washing, and regeneration sections, among others, which should be configured according to the specific production process.

Mixed mass transfer process
Raw Material IntroductionThe raw material liquid and the extracting agent are separately fed into the mixing chamber of the extraction tank through their respective feed ports. For example, in hydrometallurgy, a water solution containing metal ions serves as the raw material liquid, while an organic extracting agent is introduced into the mixing chamber as another liquid phase.
Agitate and mixThe mixing chamber is equipped with a mixer, which rotates at high speed to ensure thorough contact and mixing between the raw material liquid and the solvent. Under the action of mixing, the solute is transferred from the raw material liquid to the solvent, forming a two-phase solution. The intensity and duration of mixing are crucial for the mass transfer efficiency. Inadequate mixing can result in insufficient contact between the two phases, reducing the efficiency of mass transfer; excessive mixing may lead to emulsification, increasing the difficulty of subsequent separation.
Separation process
Overflow enters the clarification chamberThe mixed liquid enters the clarification chamber through overflow baffles. The clarification chamber is a spacious room with a large cavity volume, providing ample space for the liquid to settle and separate.
Gravity Natural SeparationIn the clarification chamber, due to the different densities of the raw liquid and the extractant, under the influence of gravity, the two phases gradually separate. The denser phase (usually the heavy phase) sinks to the bottom, while the less dense phase (usually the light phase) floats on top, forming a clear phase interface.
Partial contact reduces mass transfer efficiency; excessive stirring may lead to emulsification, increasing the difficulty of subsequent separation.

Key Features
● High-grade efficiency
●Simple Structure: The extraction tank typically consists of a tank body, interface adjustment pipe, motor reducer, agitator shaft, impeller, speed controller, and a movable platform, with a relatively simple structure.
●Stable Operation and High Adaptability: Due to the larger volume of the extraction tank and higher liquid storage, it can accommodate fluctuations in the material liquid within a certain range. After adjustment and balancing, the operation is relatively stable and highly adaptable.
● Scalability with Reliability: Design parameters such as single-stage extraction rates remain relatively reliable after scaling up.
