Extractors (extractor boxes, extractors, and mixing clarification tanks) are a type of staged-contact extraction equipment, consisting of a mixing system, mixing zone, clarification zone, and phase separation zone. In each stage, the two immiscible liquid phases undergo mixing, clarification, and phase separation processes, thereby achieving mass transfer and separation of the target solute between different liquid phases.

Work Process
The specific operation process of the extraction tank (mixed clarification tank) involves the feed liquid and extractant being pumped into the mixing chamber through their respective feed ports by a feed pump. A high-speed stirrer then mixes the feed liquid and extractant for mass transfer. Subsequently, they flow through overflow baffles into the clarification chamber, where they separate into light and heavy phases under gravity. The separated light and heavy phases then enter different outlets, completing one extraction cycle. In actual production, the extraction tank is typically a multi-stage series configuration, including extraction, back-extraction, washing, and regeneration sections, among others, which should be configured according to the specific production process.

Mixed Mass Transfer Process
Raw Material IntroductionThe raw liquid to be extracted and the extracting agent are separately introduced into the mixing chamber of the extraction tank through their respective feed ports. For example, in hydrometallurgy, a water solution containing metal ions serves as the raw liquid, while an organic extracting agent is introduced as another liquid phase into the mixing chamber.
Agitate and blendThe mixing chamber is equipped with a stirrer that rotates at high speed, ensuring thorough contact and mixing between the raw material liquid and the extractant. Under the action of stirring, the solute is transferred from the raw material liquid to the extractant, forming a two-phase solution. The intensity and duration of stirring are crucial for mass transfer efficiency; insufficient stirring may prevent adequate contact between the two phases, reducing mass transfer efficiency; excessive stirring, on the other hand, could lead to emulsification, complicating the subsequent separation process.
Separation process
Overflow enters the clarification chamberThe mixed liquid enters the clarification chamber through overflow baffles. The clarification chamber is a spacious room with a large cavity volume, providing ample space for the liquid to settle and separate.
Gravity Natural SeparationIn the clarification chamber, due to the different densities of the raw liquid and the extracting agent, under the influence of gravity, the two phases gradually separate. The phase with higher density (usually the heavy phase) sinks to the bottom, while the phase with lower density (usually the light phase) floats on top, forming a clear phase interface.
Partial contact reduces mass transfer efficiency; excessive stirring may lead to emulsification, increasing the difficulty of subsequent separation.

Key Features
● High-grade efficiency
●Simple Structure: The extraction tank typically consists of a tank body, interface adjustment tube, motor reducer, stirring shaft, stirring blade, speed controller, and a movable platform, etc., with a relatively simple structure.
●Stable Operation and Strong Adaptability: Due to the larger volume of the extraction tank and higher liquid storage, it can accommodate a certain range of fluctuations in the material liquid. After adjusting and balancing, the operation is relatively stable and highly adaptable.
● Scalable Reliability: Single-stage extraction rates and other design parameters remain relatively reliable after scaling up.
