Description

One, Applications and Product Features of Low, Medium, and High Pressure Pipe Exhaust Mufflers:

The noise emitted by steam exhaust silencers and other thermal equipment, such as steam exhaust from steam pipes, significantly exceeds the values stipulated in China's "Noise Hygiene Standards for Industrial Enterprises" (refer to Appendices 1 and 2). Consequently, our factory's steam silencer series is primarily designed for effective noise reduction of steam exhaust from thermal equipment such as boilers and steam turbines in power generation, chemical, metallurgical, and textile industries. These steam silencers are developed based on the composite noise reduction principle of resistance, jet, and absorption, featuring large noise reduction capacity, compact size, light weight, and easy installation. Depending on the application, they come in several forms:

Boiler Ignition Exhaust Muffler (TB) Type

To suppress the noise from high-pressure gas flow emissions, there are various types of silencers available worldwide, with most employing multi-stage throttling and pressure reduction. However, due to their complex structure, heavy weight, and difficulty in disassembly and maintenance, their application range is limited. This new structural design of the silencer overcomes these drawbacks.

This type of exhaust muffler is designed based on a comprehensive understanding of noise reduction principles. After high-pressure steam undergoes a single flow control within the muffler, it enters a pressure-reducing chamber where it is expanded through a large volume, forming low-pressure steam which is then ejected. During this process, a portion of the steam's internal energy is converted into sound energy of a certain frequency. Although the noise power is significantly reduced, it often remains above the standard value due to reasons such as the exhaust deviating from the design specifications. To address this, a double-layered sound-insulating hood is designed around the pressure-reducing chamber, tailored to the frequency spectrum characteristics of the residual noise emitted by the chamber, for effective noise absorption. After installation according to specifications, the total noise reduction should reach 36 to 42 decibels.

2. Steam Safety Valve Muffler (TA Type)

As is well-known, for safety valves on boilers and other thermal equipment, the exhaust steam should avoid excessive noise and ensure smooth discharge. Therefore, the commonly used multi-stage throttling and small-hole injection noise reduction methods should not be employed. This restriction has always been a design challenge for safety valve silencers and a reason for their poor noise reduction performance. The silencer used for safety valves also adopts the noise reduction principle of resistance, injection, and obstruction, replacing the smaller diameter flow control holes with larger holes for expansion, thereby strengthening the resistance, injection, and obstruction noise reduction mechanisms structurally, achieving ideal noise reduction effects.

3. Low-pressure Steam Silencer (Type TD)

A large number of industrial and mining enterprises utilize low-pressure boilers of 01.3MPa and below, and there are also numerous low-pressure thermal equipment in power plant thermal systems, such as back-pressure turbines, deaerators, auxiliary gas generators, steam turbine oil pumps, continuous boiler blowdown, and periodic blowdown expansion tanks, etc. The exhaust pipes of the aforementioned equipment require the installation of noise dampers that are lightweight in structure and easier to install. Our factory designs dedicated deaerator series, back-pressure turbine series, and other product lines for different noise reduction targets, meeting the needs of customers.

The above exhaust muffler meets the requirements of the "Noise Hygiene Standards for Industrial Enterprises" and has been widely used domestically.

Section 3: Ordering and Selection Guidelines for Steam Pipe Exhaust Mufflers

Our exhaust silencer series is meticulously designed to meet the specific steam emission targets and requirements of our customers. To achieve optimal noise reduction, it is essential that the product aligns with the emission target, steam parameters, and emission volume. Therefore, when ordering a silencer, the following parameters must be provided:

① Provide steam turbine model, boiler capacity, steam pressure, and temperature for thermal power plants.

② Application (such as for boiler superheat emissions or drum safety valve emissions, etc.)

③ Emission Rate T/H

④ Original exhaust pipe outer diameter and wall thickness;

⑤ If you require our factory to perform installation design, please provide the original exhaust pipe installation drawing.

For models not listed in the product manual, users can provide the relevant information mentioned above, and the factory will assist in selecting the appropriate model.

Section 4: Installation Instructions for Steam Pipe Exhaust Muffler

① The exhaust silencer should be installed perpendicular to the factory building roof, and the silencer bracket should be fixed to the building using a steel frame bracket.

② To enhance the wind resistance of the factory building's roof height, the exhaust silencer body is equipped with a supporting bracket. Consequently, there should be an expansion bend tube in front of the exhaust silencer to absorb thermal expansion. If a drain pan is already installed vertically on the original exhaust pipe section, the expansion bend tube is not required.

③ The bottom of each exhaust muffler is designed with a drainage pipe or drain holes, and the orifices should be checked for free flow.

④ The exhaust pipe should have a rain shield made of thin steel plate installed over the opening in the factory's roof platform (as shown in Figure 3).

⑤ For safety doors, in principle, one silencer is matched with one safety door. Safety doors are available in single and double seat designs. For the double seat models, the exhaust pipes can be merged into a single main pipe during installation, which is then connected to the silencer. However, for double seat safety doors with higher exhaust volume, two silencers can also be installed.

⑥ The exhaust silencers for low-volume applications such as oxygen separator, steam jet vacuum pump exhaust, are designed in a tubular shape for easy installation. The installation method involves mounting the exhaust silencer vertically along the walls and columns of the main workshop. Type steel sliding brackets are set up on the walls and columns, with the silencer and piping suspended from them, ensuring the exhaust outlet faces the roof direction. Note that this type of silencer comes with a fixed bracket upon factory shipment; it is not necessary to use the fixed bracket when installing with sliding brackets.
