One. Purpose and Product Features of Boiler Steam Drum Exhaust Muffler:

The noise emitted by the steam exhaust from steam drums of boilers and other thermal equipment, such as exhaust silencers, far exceeds the values stipulated in China's "Noise Hygiene Standards for Industrial Enterprises" (refer to Appendices 1 and 2). Consequently, our factory's steam silencer product line is primarily designed for effective noise reduction of steam exhaust from thermal equipment like boiler turbines in power generation, chemical, metallurgical, and textile industries. These steam silencers are developed based on the composite noise reduction principle of resistance, jet, and absorption, featuring large noise reduction capacity, compact size, light weight, and easy installation. The series includes several forms based on different applications:

Boiler Ignition Exhaust Muffler (TB) Type

To suppress the noise from high-pressure gas flow emissions, there are various types of mufflers available worldwide, with most employing multi-stage throttling to reduce pressure. However, due to their complex structure, heavy weight, and difficulty in disassembly and maintenance, their application range is limited. This new structural muffler overcomes these shortcomings.

This type of exhaust silencer is designed based on a comprehensive understanding of sound absorption principles. After high-pressure steam is once controlled within the silencer and then enters the pressure-reducing chamber, it undergoes expansion in a large volume, forming low-pressure steam that is emitted. During this process, a portion of the steam's internal energy is converted into sound energy of a certain frequency. Although the noise power is significantly reduced, it often remains above the standard value due to reasons such as exhaust deviation from the design value. To address this, a double-layered sound-insulating hood is designed around the pressure-reducing chamber, tailored to the spectral characteristics of the residual noise emitted by the chamber, for effective noise absorption. After installation according to specifications, the total noise reduction should reach 36 to 42 decibels.

2. Steam Safety Valve Muffler (TA Type)

As is well-known, for safety valves on boilers and other thermal equipment, the exhaust steam should avoid excessive noise and ensure smooth discharge. Therefore, the commonly used methods such as multi-stage throttling and small-hole injection for noise reduction should not be adopted. This restriction has always been a design challenge for safety valve silencers and a reason for their poor noise reduction performance. The present utility model for safety valve silencers also employs the noise reduction principle of resistance, injection, and obstruction, replacing the smaller diameter flow control holes with larger holes for expansion, thus strengthening the noise reduction mechanism of resistance, injection, and obstruction structurally, achieving ideal noise reduction effects.

3. Low-pressure Steam Silencer (TD Model)

Many industrial and mining enterprises utilize a large number of low-pressure boilers with pressures of 01.3MPa or less. In power plant thermal systems, there are also numerous low-pressure thermal equipment units, such as back-pressure turbines, deaerators, auxiliary air blowers, steam turbine oil pumps, continuous blowdown from boilers, regular blowdown expansion tanks, and more. The exhaust pipes of the aforementioned equipment require the installation of noise dampers that are lightweight in structure and easier to install. Our factory designs specialized deaerator series, back-pressure turbine series, and other product lines to cater to different noise reduction needs, meeting customer requirements.

The above exhaust muffler meets the requirements of the "Noise Sanitation Standard for Industrial Enterprises" and has been widely applied domestically.

Section 3: Ordering and Selection Guide for Boiler Steam Drum Exhaust Muffler

Our exhaust silencer series is meticulously designed to meet the specific steam emission needs and requirements of our customers. To achieve optimal noise reduction, it is essential that the product aligns with the emission target, steam parameters, and volume. Therefore, when ordering a silencer, the following parameters must be provided:

① Provide the steam turbine model, boiler capacity, steam pressure, and temperature for thermal power plants.

② Applicable Use (e.g., for superheat emissions from boilers or safety valve emissions from steam drums, etc.)

③ Emission Rate: T/H

④ Original exhaust pipe outer diameter and wall thickness;

If you require our factory to handle the installation design, please provide the original exhaust pipe installation diagram.

For models not listed in the product manual, users may provide the aforementioned information, and our factory will assist in selecting the appropriate model.

Four: Installation Instructions for Boiler Steam Drum Exhaust Muffler

① The exhaust muffler should be installed vertically on the factory roof, and the muffler bracket should be securely fastened to the factory building using steel frame supports.

② To enhance the wind resistance of the factory building's ceiling height, the exhaust muffler body uses a supporting bracket. Therefore, the exhaust pipe before the exhaust muffler should have a section of expansion bend to absorb thermal expansion. If a drain pan is already installed vertically on the original exhaust pipe section, the expansion bend can be omitted.

③ The bottom of each exhaust muffler is designed with a drain pipe or drain hole, which should be checked to ensure the orifice is unobstructed.

④ The exhaust pipe should have a thin steel plate rain shield installed at the opening in the roof platform of the factory building (as shown in Figure 3).

⑤ For safety doors, it is generally the case that one safety door is paired with one silencer. Safety doors come in two types: single seat and double seat. For the double seat models, the exhaust pipes can be combined into a single main pipe during installation and connected to the silencer. However, for double seat safety doors with higher exhaust volume, two silencers can also be installed.

⑥The exhaust silencers for small flow applications such as deaerators and steam ejector vacuum pumps are designed in a tubular shape for easy installation. The installation method involves mounting the exhaust silencers vertically along the walls and columns of the main workshop. Steel sliding brackets are set up on the walls and columns, with the silencer and pipeline mounted on them, with the exhaust outlet facing the roof direction. Note that this type of silencer comes with a fixed bracket upon factory shipment, which can be omitted when using sliding bracket installation. ⑤If installation design by our factory is required, the original exhaust pipeline installation drawing should be provided.

Four: Installation Instructions for Boiler Steam Drum Exhaust Muffler

Therefore, the exhaust pipe before the exhaust silencer should have a section of expansion bend to absorb thermal expansion. ③ The bottom of the exhaust silencer is designed with drain pipes or drain holes. The openings should be checked for unobstructed flow.

④ The exhaust pipe should have a rain shield made of thin steel plate installed over the opening in the factory roof platform (as shown in Figure 3).

⑤ For safety doors, it is generally recommended to pair each safety door with one muffler. Safety doors are available in single and double seat models. For the double seat type, the exhaust pipes can be merged into a single main pipe during installation, connecting to the muffler. However, for double seat safety doors with higher exhaust volume, installing two mufflers is also an option.

⑥ The exhaust silencers for small capacity applications such as deaerators and steam jet vacuum pumps are designed in a tubular shape for easy installation. The installation method involves mounting the exhaust silencers vertically along the main workshop walls and columns. Type steel sliding brackets are set up on the walls and columns, upon which the silencers and pipelines are suspended. The exhaust outlet of the silencer should face the roof direction. Note that the silencers are factory-fitted with fixed supports, and these can be omitted when using sliding bracket installation.
