A spray dryer is a device that can simultaneously complete drying and granulation. It can adjust the pressure, flow rate, and size of the feed pump according to process requirements, producing spherical particles of a specific size ratio. The spray dryer is a type of continuous atmospheric pressure dryer. Special equipment sprays the liquid material into a mist, which is then dried by contacting with hot air. It is used for drying heat-sensitive liquids, suspensions, and viscous liquids, as well as for drying fuels, intermediates, soap powder, and inorganic salts, etc. Typically includes electrically heated forced-air drying ovens, vacuum dryers, high-speed centrifugal spray dryers, and sterile spray dryers. It provides a detailed introduction to the working principle, basic classification, features, technical parameters, application scope, and operational process of the spray dryer.
Features
Fast drying speed; after atomization, the liquid's surface area increases significantly, allowing for the evaporation of 95%-98% moisture in the hot air stream instantly, with the drying process taking only a few seconds, particularly suitable for heat-sensitive materials.
The product boasts excellent uniformity, fluidity, and solubility with a high purity and superior quality. The production process is simplified and operation control is convenient. Liquids with moisture content of 40-60% (special materials up to 90%) can be dried into a powder-granule product in one step. Post-drying, there's no need for crushing or sieving, reducing production steps and enhancing product purity. The particle size, bulk density, and moisture content can be adjusted within a certain range by changing operating conditions, making control and management straightforward.
