Hinge-type Bellows CompensatorIntroduction:
Angular hinge compensators consist of flexible components made up of bellows and hinge plates connected by end tubes. They are commonly used in pairs of angular hinge types or two universal hinge types along with one angular hinge, suitable for "L" and "Z" pipe systems, primarily compensating the composite displacement of multi-plane bending pipe sections through angular deflection. Due to the pin shaft and hinge plate's ability to withstand pressure thrust and other additional external forces, the expansion joint itself absorbs internal pressure thrust without exerting external force on the pipeline, thus simplifying the pipeline support setup. To ensure defect-free future product use for customers, our factory's angular hinge compensators all meet safety requirements for hinge plate thickness, guaranteeing the ability to withstand significant pipeline pressure thrusts caused during future operation.
Angular hinge bellows expansion joint performance features: The single hinge bellows expansion joint absorbs angular displacement along the axial direction of pipelines, conveying channels, or vessels due to thermal expansion or contraction by changing its angle. Typically used in pairs or triples, the compensation amount is proportional to the distance between the two products. Its advantages include a small volume, light weight, and the pressure thrust of the product being borne by the hinge components. The angular hinge bellows compensator can compensate for angular displacements of pipelines in any direction.
Angular hinge bellows expansion joints application scope: Mainly used in various complex piping systems to compensate for angular displacement of piping systems, such as L-shaped pipes, Z-shaped pipes, U-shaped pipes, etc.

Two hinge-type expansion joints are applied in the Z-pipe to absorb a large amount of thermal expansion displacement in the pipeline system. The expansion joints can be pre-tensioned (preset at the offset position) to achieve the displacement. The thermal expansion in the branch pipe has been absorbed by the natural elasticity of the pipeline's horizontal movement. The pressure thrust has been restricted by the hinges, allowing the use of intermediate supports. The flat pipeline system supports enable the branch pipe to make oscillating displacements as shown in the figure.
It is a good practice to control (L1) and (L2) displacements. As shown in the figure, the flat conduit assembly allows the support frame to swing within its displacement arc.
Flat Outside Double Hinge Bellows Expansion Joint System Application

As shown in the figure, the double-hinged expansion joint is commonly used when pipe systems cross roadways or railway lines, often supported by pipeline bridges or racks. The hinges are designed to support the intermediate connection between the two expansion joints and the pressure thrust generated within the system. The hinge-type expansion joints can be cold-pressed, which significantly enhances their own displacement capacity.

In long pipeline systems, the number of expansion joints can be reduced by designing the pipeline as a U-shape and incorporating four hinge-type devices (as shown in the diagram). The pressure in the pipeline is then maintained within a range, and compared to a system with pipeline loops, it can decrease the number of pipeline supports. The intermediate support in the U-shaped pipeline divides the entire system into two identical extended sections. Cold shrinkage can increase the displacement of the expansion joints.
