Insulators are made by gluing a ceramic piece with upper and lower metal attachments using an adhesive. Elastic pads are placed between the ceramic piece and the metal attachments at the bonding contact areas. The bonding sections of the ceramic pieces feature structures such as sandblasting, knurling, and grooving to ensure mechanical strength, prevent loosening, and twisting. The ceramic surface is evenly coated with white glaze, while the metal attachments are painted with gray magnetic paint.

The main structure of insulator porcelain components comes in two types: cavity partition (breakable) structure and solid (non-breakable) structure. The combined adhesive mounted pillar insulators are generally of the solid non-breakable structure. This latter structure offers improved safety reliability and reduces the maintenance testing workload compared to the former structure.

Insulator porcelain pieces are available in two shapes: with either multiple or fewer棱. The multi-棱 shape increases the face distance, offering better electrical properties compared to the fewer-棱 shape. All products except for the gradually being phased-out vulcanized-joint insulator posts are of the multi-棱 design.

Internal rubber-lined structure, due to the metal accessories being sealed into the porcelain parts' holes, it correspondingly increases the insulation distance, enhancing electrical performance. At the same time, it reduces the space occupied during installation. However, since internal rubber lining is不利 for improving mechanical strength, insulators requiring high mechanical strength should use combined rubber lining (i.e., the upper accessories use internal rubber lining, and the lower accessories use external rubber lining).

High-voltage line disc-shaped suspension porcelain insulators are used for insulation and wire fixation in high-voltage overhead transmission and distribution lines. Generally, they are assembled into insulator strings for use on lines of various voltage levels.

Standard insulators are suitable for general areas; increasing the number of insulator discs can also enhance the anti-fouling performance if appropriate.

Suspended porcelain insulators are made by bonding porcelain components, iron caps, and steel feet with a cementitious adhesive of not less than 525-grade silicate cement and quartz sand. The iron caps and steel feet have a thin layer of buffering material on the contact surfaces with the adhesive, and the top of the steel feet features an elastic pad. The porcelain surface is typically glazed with white and brown glazes, with other glazes available upon request. Both the iron caps and steel feet are hot-dipped galvanized. The push-pull elastic locking pins for spherical connections come in W and R types, both made of tin bronze, brass, and austenitic stainless steel, offering good elasticity and corrosion resistance, and easy assembly and disassembly. The cylindrical and saddle-shaped open pins for槽-type connections are made of brass, with the cylindrical ones being hot-dipped galvanized. The elastic locking pins and cylindrical pins, etc., as zero insulators, are divided into spherical and槽-type based on the connection method.

Standard and dirt-resistant insulators of the same strength grade, with the same ball socket connection dimensions, can ensure interchangeability.
