Rockwool batts are made primarily from natural basalt, melted at high temperatures and spun into artificial inorganic fibers by high-speed centrifugal equipment. They are then mixed with specially formulated binders and dusting oil, heated and cured to produce various specifications of rockwool thermal insulation products to meet different requirements.
