The leaves of the Amorpha are alternate, with linear stipules at the base, and form odd-pinnate compound leaves, with an odd number of leaflets.
The flowers of the amur corktree are blue-purple, forming dense spikes at the tops and upper parts of the branches, covered with golden pollen. The flowers have short stalks, sepals with sparse hair or nearly hairless, and standard petals heart-shaped in purple. The pods of the amur corktree hang downwards and slightly curve, with a small tip at the top, a surface with raised warty glands, and the pods are brownish. Flowering and fruiting usually occur from May to October.
Chinese reed is not only an ornamental plant but also the primary species used in the dense planting structure of windbreak forests. Additionally, it serves as a nectar source, playing a crucial role in road protection, embankment maintenance, and soil and water conservation.
