Finned Tube Overview
Finned tubes, designed to enhance heat exchange efficiency, typically increase the surface area (either outer or inner) of the heat exchange tubes by adding fins, thereby improving the heat exchange efficiency. Such heat exchange tubes serve as heat exchange elements and are subjected to high-temperature smoke conditions over an extended period, such as in the finned tubes used in boiler heat exchangers, where the environment is harsh—high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive. This necessitates that finned tubes have high performance specifications.

Finned tubes come in a variety of types and new varieties are constantly emerging. Finned tubes can generally be categorized into the following application scenarios:

Finned Tube Advantages

2. Compact Structure: Plate heat exchangers feature tightly packed plates, occupying less floor space and volume compared to other types of heat exchangers. A plate heat exchanger with the same heat transfer capacity as a shell-and-tube exchanger requires only 1/5 of the area.
3. Easy to clean and dismantle: The plate heat exchanger clamps the plate pack tightly with clamping bolts, making it convenient for disassembly and assembly. It can be opened up for cleaning at any time. Additionally, due to the smooth plate surface and high turbulence, it is less prone to scaling.
4. Long Service Life: Plate heat exchangers are made of stainless steel or titanium alloy plates, resistant to various corrosive media. Gaskets are replaceable and can be easily assembled, disassembled, and inspected.
5. Versatile: Plate heat exchanger plates are independent components, allowing for the addition or reduction of circuits as required, with diverse configurations; suitable for various different process demands.
6. No cross-contamination; the plate heat exchanger features a leakage channel in the sealing groove, ensuring that various media do not mix. In case of leakage, the medium is always discharged outward.
