During the dismantling process, if the following situations are found in bridge cutting, the construction unit should immediately notify the designer. Only after the designer confirms, can the construction continue: (1) deformation of the existing structure; (2) rusting of the existing structure's steel reinforcement; (3) cracking in the existing structure; 4. If the drawings require the retention of the original steel reinforcement, during the dismantling process, the construction personnel should locate it and take proper protective measures. 5. Dismantling principle: dismantle from top to bottom, layer by layer and span by span in order, and strictly prohibit three-dimensional cross operations. The dismantling work is carried out in the reverse order of construction.
Bridge Cutting and Demolition -- Pre-construction Preparation (1) During the construction of precast beams and slabs, as well as the abutment retaining walls, anchor reinforcement should be pre-buried according to design requirements, and slots should be reserved. (2) When installing beams and slabs, the gap size on the piers and abutments where the bridge expansion joints are located should be appropriately adjusted to meet the width required for the installation of the expansion joint devices. (3) To ensure the passage of construction vehicles before asphalt paving, sand or sandy soil should be filled in the slots and between the pre-buried reinforcement, with the exposed top surface 1-2cm higher than the top of the pre-buried reinforcement to protect the reinforcement from being crushed. (4) Before the construction of bridge expansion joints, a detailed construction organization and design plan must be submitted, requiring careful organization, comprehensive arrangement, clear responsibilities, and distinct roles, and strictly controlling according to construction specifications. (5) Familiarize with the drawings, installation operation procedures, and conduct construction operation training. Check the position numbering of the bridge expansion joints and perform acceptance work on the straightness, flatness, twist, and spacing of the bridge expansion joints. 2. Bridge Cutting and Demolition -- Transportation of Bridge Expansion Joint Devices (1) The expansion joint devices are generally supplied in sets of 4, already fixed by the manufacturer. The expansion devices should be tied down as a whole on a flatbed truck, and driven slowly when making turns to prevent overturning. (2) The expansion devices should be categorized and transported to the bridge construction site for each bridge, and detailed verification should be conducted.
