Directional drilling pipe laying method
The directional drilling pipeline laying method utilizes horizontal directional drilling to lay pipes without excavating the road surface. The working principle of the horizontal directional drilling rig is: during construction, it uses a controllable directional bit to guide the drill rod along the designed borehole trajectory. After the drill rod is guided to the ground, it progressively replaces the hole enlarger for reverse enlargement until the desired borehole diameter is achieved. Then, the hole enlarger is connected to the finished pipe, followed by the pullback operation. When all the drill rods are pulled back, the pipeline laying is complete. The construction process of horizontal directional drilling includes: site survey - pilot hole drilling - hole enlargement - pullback pipeline laying. The construction process is illustrated in the diagram below.
Construction Advantages:
Addressed the disturbance to people's lives and work caused by traditional excavation construction, reducing the damage and adverse effects on traffic, environment, and the foundations of surrounding buildings. In places where traditional methods cannot be used or excavation is not permitted, guided boring pipeline laying can be used to cross below and install pipelines. The pipeline design can be placed in the best locations with minimal work, and guided boring pipeline laying technology can accurately control the laying direction and burial depth of underground pipelines, allowing the pipelines to bypass undiscovered underground obstructions and existing pipelines. It offers good economic benefits. Under comparable conditions, the comprehensive cost of pipeline laying and replacement using guided boring technology is significantly lower than that of excavation methods.
Wide range of diameters, lengths, and materials; also suitable for repairing drainage pipes made of HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes that have been structurally damaged and unusable. Before-and-after comparison of damaged pipeline repair using directional drilling technology.
