Application

The Dry Air Generator is suitable for power system transformers, reactors, and other large-scale power equipment that require dry air during maintenance, serving as an alternative to the traditional transformer thermal oil circulation drying method. It is also applicable for air drying and recirculation drying in storage, packaging, and electronics industries. Additionally, it is particularly suitable for drying hydrogen in the hydrogen cooling system of power generation units and for drying SF6 gas in SF6 equipment. The GZ Dry Air Generator facilitates power equipment maintenance without being affected by external weather conditions. Especially for overnight operations, simply seal all flanges, fill with dry air at 0.02-0.03 MPa, and there is no need to oil the transformers or reactors, thus preventing dampness. This reduces the daily workload of oil extraction and refueling, achieving the effect of shortening maintenance periods and improving maintenance quality. During the oil filtering process, the generator can be used to inflate and dry the equipment's casing and oil, ensuring improved oil insulation and reduced moisture during filtering in rainy or humid conditions. It can also be used as an on-site indoor air conditioner when not in use.

Principle

As atmospheric air enters the refrigeration unit below freezing, most water vapor condenses into ice water, and the air undergoes the first drying process. It then passes through a desiccant air filter, where it is dried for the second time by passing through变色silica gel. This removes any remaining water vapor, and the filtered air is then supplied to the equipment requiring dry gas. When the变色silica gel becomes saturated with water, its CoCl2 turns from blue to red, indicating that the silica gel is saturated and needs to be replaced with dried blue silica gel to ensure the output air remains dry.

Performance and Features

This low dew point, portable, air-cooled high purity gas generator consists of four parts: the gas source system, the freeze drying system, the adsorption drying system, and the electrical control system.

Air Supply System Composition: Comprising an air-dust filter, an oil-free air compressor set, air cooler (air-cooled), air-water separator, and filter, producing clean, oil-free gas output.

Composition of Freeze-Drying System: This unit primarily uses an imported fully enclosed high-temperature refrigeration compressor unit, featuring stable and reliable performance and providing a greater cooling capacity. The system configuration includes an imported fully enclosed refrigeration compressor unit, air heat exchanger, evaporator, gas-liquid separator, and precision filter. The refrigeration process utilizes R-22 refrigerant, which is first compressed by the fully enclosed high-temperature refrigeration compressor, cooled by the cooler, dried by desiccant, controlled by solenoid valves, expanded by expansion valves, and finally returns to the refrigeration compressor through the evaporator, creating a 0-5°C low-temperature environment inside the evaporator.

System Process Flow

First, the raw air is filtered through an air filter (three-stage filtration) to remove most oil, water, and dust. It then enters a freeze-dryer, followed by a precision filter and a desander filled with granular material. This reduces the residual oil content to ≤0.01ppm. After passing through a buffer storage tank, it enters a two-column pressure swing adsorption system filled with adsorbents, known as the dry air generator unit. The clean compressed air enters from the bottom of the adsorption tower, is diffused through an air diffuser, and evenly distributed into the tower for gas-water adsorption separation. The dried air is then discharged from the outlet, enters an air buffer tank, and this gas production process takes about 1 minute. It is then subjected to equalization and pressure reduction (to atmospheric pressure) to remove the adsorbed impurities (mainly water vapor). This completes the regeneration of the adsorbent. The two adsorption towers operate in an alternating cycle, continuously feeding raw air and producing dried air. The air output pressure is 0.1Mpa, and the oxygen dew point is around -45℃.
