1) Suspended hardware, also known as supporting hardware or suspension clamp. This type of hardware is primarily used for hanging insulated conductor strings (commonly used on straight pole towers) and for suspending jumper wires on insulated conductor strings.
2) Anchor hardware, also known as fastening hardware or wire clamp.
3) Connector hardware, also known as hanging wire components. This hardware is used to connect insulators in series and to join hardware with hardware. It withstands mechanical loads.
4) Continuation Hardware. This hardware is used for connecting various bare conductors and lightning wires. It bears the same electrical load as the conductors and most continuation hardware carries the full tension of the conductors or lightning wires.
