The lightning arrester insulator is a two-in-one product with a new composite structure, adopting a design philosophy of first blocking and then clearing, which enhances the insulation performance and anti-pollution level. It is suitable for insulating supports of overhead lines and also has protective functions against lightning strikes on overhead insulated conductors, porcelain insulator explosions, and reducing lightning-induced circuit breakers. The principle is as follows: when the lightning overvoltage exceeds a certain value of the insulation blockage, it causes a flashover discharge between the arc rod and steel foot of the lightning arrester column, forming a short-circuit path. The subsequent AC arc then burns at the discharge gap to protect the conductor from burning. When used with insulating wires, this product also has a piercing power supply function, making installation and construction extremely convenient and reliable. It avoids water and corrosion entering the core by not removing the insulation layer, thereby also reducing the labor intensity of the operators. By integrating the column insulator and arc protection hardware into one (at the same potential), it is not affected by the ring network power supply load side (away from the power source side), which makes the line simpler and more aesthetically pleasing while also reducing the cost.
