Product Introduction

Crude oil demulsifiers are chemical agents used for oil-water separation in oil production fluids. Their demulsification principle involves the demulsifier penetrating and adhering to the interface of emulsified droplets, replacing the original emulsifier and disrupting the surface film, releasing the droplets encapsulated within the film, and causing them to coalesce, thereby separating the oil and water phases. As oil extraction technology evolves from waterflooding to heavy oil thermal recovery, and then to alkali water flooding, surfactant flooding, polymer flooding, and tertiary recovery, the emulsification of asphaltene, asphalt, naphthenic acid, fatty acids, salts, crystalline paraffin, and various surface-active substances artificially introduced, results in the extracted crude oil appearing as an emulsion. With the continuous advancement of new technologies, most oil fields in China have now entered the high water-cut stage, with the crude oil emulsion transitioning from CDE to EDC type, which increases the difficulty of demulsification and dehydration of crude oil. This also leads to significant changes in the composition and demulsification mechanism of crude oil demulsifiers. For an ideal crude oil demulsifier, it should possess strong surface activity, good wettability, sufficient flocculation ability, and good coalescence effects. While meeting the needs of oil fields and ensuring the effectiveness of crude oil demulsification and dehydration, it also drives the research and development process of crude oil demulsifiers.
