Rural Drinking Water Purification Equipment is a newly developed water treatment unit by KONNO Environmental Protection. It combines fluid property control theory with a main body made of 304 stainless steel, utilizing automated fluid control technology and physical filtration methods. It incorporates water vortex, well渗滤, automatic backwashing, gas-liquid regulation, and removal of suspended matter on the water surface, organic matter in water, and heavy metal ions. During operation, the equipment does not introduce new substances and does not alter the water's characteristics, making it an excellent water treatment method.
Rural drinking water treatment equipment utilizes KRO active filtration media, which complement each other and enhance their effectiveness. According to the performance assessment provided by the Filter Testing Service Center (IFTS), the KRO active filtration media outperforms sand media, glass bead media, and other media.





Rural Drinking Water Treatment Equipment Principle
The KRO filtration equipment is based on the natural self-purification phenomenon of water bodies in nature. Water flows into the container through a tangential inlet, causing the water to rotate around the entrance. This tangential inlet ensures even dispersion of water and particles, with the top layer medium, which generates the Zeta (ε) potential, also rotating. The vortex stabilizer design maintains this layer in a rotating state, preventing the formation of a cone. Additionally, fine particles in the water are dispersed within the medium, while larger particles remain suspended. This makes it easy to remove them during backwashing. When the pressure exceeds 0.7 bars, the system automatically performs backwashing. Before backwashing, there is approximately a 20-second dwell time to allow the medium to stabilize. The backwashing water flows from bottom to top, removing pollutants within two to five minutes. After backwashing, there is a 20-second stabilization period for the medium, followed by the restart of the filtration process.
Filtering (Well Fine Filtration) Principle
Multi-layer KRO® filter media, graded according to the principle of渗井, filters water flowing from top to bottom by gravity. The precision filter designed according to this theory offers the same effect, is less prone to clogging, and does not require frequent flushing, significantly extending the working cycle.
The basis for the anti-backwash layer arrangement in infiltration wells is determined by the characteristics of the wastewater itself. The particle size of the filter layer matches the dispersed particles in the wastewater. The dispersed particles in the wastewater can be arranged into many levels by size, typically with a 97% to 3% relationship between the larger particles and the smaller ones adjacent to them. There is a subtle proportion between the larger particles retained at the top and the smaller particles retained at the bottom, with the weight of particles retained at the top accounting for 97% of the total weight while the number of particles is only 3%. The weight of particles retained at the bottom is then 97% of 3%, and so on. This is the KRO® layer in the layer-by-layer retention of particles in wastewater, which prevents clogging, extends the operational cycle, and also improves the quality of the effluent. Due to the characteristics of this layered filtration, it can even remove bacteria from the water. As is well known, the particle size of E. coli is 0.5μ, meaning that this composite filter layer can remove particles larger than 0.5μ, including those above 0.5μ.
