Reverse Osmosis (RO) equipment is a sophisticated membrane separation technology. By applying working pressure on the permeate (concentrate) side, it overcomes the natural osmotic pressure. When a working pressure higher than the natural osmotic pressure is applied to the concentrate side, the natural permeation direction of water molecules is reversed; water molecules in the concentrate pass through the reverse osmosis membrane to become pure water on the dilute solution side. RO equipment can prevent dissolved salts and organic compounds exceeding 100ppm from passing through, but allows water molecules to permeate. The desalination rate of reverse osmosis composite bags is generally above 98%. It is widely used in the preparation of industrial pure and ultra-pure water systems for electronic equipment, the production of drinking mineral water, and the supply of heating furnaces. Using RO equipment before ion exchange can significantly reduce the discharge of process water and wastewater.
