Polypropylene Fiber

Polypropylene fiber is a synthetic fiber spun from isotactic polypropylene obtained through the polymerization of propylene, commonly known as "polypropylene" in our country.

Polypropylene fibers offer high strength, excellent toughness, good chemical resistance, and excellent antimicrobial properties, as well as low cost, making them widely used in industries such as ropes, fishing nets, safety belts, bag straps, safety nets, sewing threads, cable sheaths, geotextiles, filter fabrics, paper felt, and reinforcing materials for paper.

Manufactured using polypropylene fibers for their high strength, resistance to acids and alkalis, antimicrobial properties, and equal strength in both dry and wet conditions, woven polypropylene geotextiles can reinforce civil engineering projects built on soft soil foundations (such as dams, reservoirs, highways, and railways), ensuring even load distribution over the geotextile, uniform subgrade settlement, and reduced ground cracking. When constructing slopes, woven polypropylene geotextiles can stabilize them, reduce slope failures, shorten construction time, and extend the lifespan of the slope. For projects with heavy loads, composite geotextiles with woven and nonwoven bases can be used. Polypropylene fibers can act as filling materials for concrete and mortar, enhancing the impact resistance and waterproof thermal insulation of concrete.

With the rapid development of the chemical, environmental protection, and new energy industries, polypropylene fibers, as filter materials, present excellent prospects for use. New technologies have enhanced their filtering efficiency, strength, light weight, and chemical stability, as well as their ability to easily remove filter materials. Consequently, as functional products like hydrophilic separators and ion exchange membranes in industries such as chemicals, environmental protection, and batteries, they are witnessing a favorable development trend and are a new high-tech product that boosts the added value of polypropylene fibers.
