How to Maintain and Care for a Low-Temperature Constant Temperature Bath

    2026-01-27

The Low-Temperature Constant-Temperature Water Bath is widely used in research departments of petrochemical, chemical, electronic instruments, physics, chemistry, bioengineering, pharmaceutical health, life sciences, light industry and food, physical property testing, and chemical analysis. It is also utilized in colleges and universities, enterprise quality inspection and production departments. The water bath provides a controlled thermal and cold environment with uniform and constant temperature for users, enabling constant temperature tests or tests on test samples or products. It can also serve as a direct heating or cooling source, or an auxiliary heating or cooling source.

The daily maintenance and care of low-temperature constant temperature water baths is also a concern for many users. Here are some points summarized by our company:

Prior to use, the low-temperature constant-temperature bath must be filled with a liquid medium first; otherwise, the heater may be damaged when powered on. The liquid level should be approximately 30mm below the worktop.

    2. The selection of liquid medium in a low-temperature constant-temperature bath should comply with the following principles:

At working temperatures ranging from 5 to 85°C, liquid mediums typically select water.

    b. At working temperatures between 85-95°C, a 15% glycerol water solution can be used as the liquid medium.

    c. When the working temperature is below 5°C, liquid mediums are generally chosen to be alcohol or refrigerant.

After the refrigeration switch of the low-temperature constant-temperature water bath is turned off, the refrigeration switch should be turned on again after a 10-20 minute interval (depending on the ambient temperature).

    4. Low-temperature constant-temperature water bath power supply: 220V 50Hz, the power supply power should be greater than the total power of the instrument, and the power supply must have a good "grounding" device.

    5. The low-temperature恒温槽 should be placed in a dry, well-ventilated area, with no obstructions within 300mm of the instrument. When the low-temperature恒温槽 operates at a lower temperature, caution should be exercised to prevent hands from entering the tank to avoid frostbite. After use, all switches should be turned off and the power supply disconnected. Regular cleaning should be maintained for the low-temperature恒温槽, keeping the work surface and control panel clean.
