The 6415A Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) is a test module for optical cable monitoring systems. Primarily used for measuring the physical characteristics of optical fibers such as length, transmission loss, and splice loss, it also accurately locates event and fault points in the optical fiber network. Widely applied in power grid companies, high-speed networks, broadcasting and television, oil and gas pipelines, and the research, development, and production testing of optical cables, it plays a crucial role in special network transmission project acceptance, optical cable data testing, emergency repair and maintenance, and optical cable inspection and repair, enhancing overall network efficiency and stability.

The 6415A features an aluminum alloy construction for durability, equipped with a General Electric interface and FC/UPC optical interfaces. It includes both Ethernet and RS232 communication ports, with the RS232 port used for retrieving product information and setting the initial IP address; the Ethernet port is for controlling the entire module and facilitating command sending and data transmission.
