Potential applications in the automotive industry
As the trend of automotive lightweighting accelerates, aluminum-zinc plated sheets are increasingly applied in the automotive field. Their high-strength properties can replace some traditional steel, reducing vehicle weight (every 100 kg saved can lower fuel consumption by about 0.3 L/100 km). At the same time, their corrosion resistance extends the lifespan of components like the undercarriage and door panels, decreasing maintenance costs. For instance, the battery pack housing of the Tesla Model 3 uses aluminum-zinc plated sheets, balancing structural strength and protective performance. In the future, with the maturation of hot forming technology, aluminum-zinc plated sheets are expected to be used in the manufacturing of high-strength safety components (such as A-pillars and B-pillars), further enhancing vehicle safety. Additionally, their thermal reflectivity can be used for engine compartment insulation, reducing the impact of high temperatures on electronic components.
