Innovative Applications of Aluminum-Zinc Coated Steel Sheets in Lightweight Transportation Fields
As the demand for lightweight vehicles grows, galvanized aluminum zinc plates have entered the rail transit field due to their high strength-to-weight ratio. For instance, a high-speed train carriage uses galvanized aluminum zinc plates for its side wall panels, reducing the weight of each panel by 12% while maintaining impact resistance, and cutting energy consumption by 8%. In the field of new energy vehicles, galvanized aluminum zinc plates are used for battery pack casings, meeting the IP67 protection level requirements for corrosion resistance and electromagnetic shielding. Furthermore, through laser welding technology, galvanized aluminum zinc plates can achieve integrated forming of complex structures, reducing the number of parts and assembly procedures. Calculations show that the total life cycle cost of high-speed train carriages using galvanized aluminum zinc plates is 15% lower than that of aluminum alloy carriages, with a 20% reduction in carbon emissions.
