According to Article 11.0.12 of the "Technical Code for Fire Water Supply and Fire Hydrant System" GB50974-2014, this is a mandatory clause (in bold). Pressure start, remote start, and hard-wire pull start are all achieved through relays for automatic pump startup. If the relay and low-voltage signal fail and the fire pump cannot be automatically started, the "mechanical emergency start device" set in the fire pump control cabinet should be used to directly start the fire pump - fire pump control cabinet. When both the low-voltage signal and the hard-wire pull start relay fail, and the secondary circuit and electrical faults in the fire pump control cabinet prevent automatic or manual startup, this clause mandates that in emergency fire situations, as long as the power supply is normal, the pump can be directly started regardless of the damage to the control lines within the control cabinet, to ensure timely firefighting. The "mechanical emergency start device" is directly driven by a mechanical interlock device to start the fire pump. The device can be configured with star-delta start and step-down start methods. The handle of the "mechanical emergency start device" is in the stop position (locked) under normal circumstances. In an emergency fire situation, it must be operated by an authorized personnel (the mechanical emergency start device is locked and usually kept by authorized personnel; the time from alarm to normal water supply by the fire pump should not exceed 5 minutes, which includes the time from the control room to the pump room and the time from forced startup to normal water supply).
◆ Application Environment
Ambient Temperature: 0~+40℃
2. Environmental Humidity: 0~90% without condensation
3. Altitude: Less than 1,000 meters
◆ Product Features
1. The fire pump and sprinkler control cabinets are already installed. An independent emergency mechanical start control cabinet can be added in front of the fire pump and sprinkler control cabinets. The power is supplied from a dual power cabinet, and the mechanical emergency start cabinet's output is paralleled with the control cabinet's output terminals. The mechanical emergency start cabinet is available in two types: 3-phase and 6-phase, depending on the control cabinet's starting method. For star-delta starting control cabinets, the mechanical emergency start device is 6-phase. For soft start, direct start, and autotransformer step-down start control cabinets, the mechanical emergency start device is 3-phase.
2. In the event of a fire, if the control cabinet's wiring fails and cannot be started normally, the fire pump can be directly initiated through the emergency fire fighting switch cabinet. To start, simply rotate the handle clockwise by 90° to activate the corresponding fire pump.
3. If the user or owner purchases both our fire pump and deluge pump control cabinets simultaneously, which are integrated as a single unit (with an "emergency mechanical start device"), the functions are the same as described above.
Since the issuance of GB50974-2014 Technical Specification for Fire Water Supply and Fire Hydrant System, our company has focused all personnel on studying the new specifications and requirements. In response to the new specifications and requirements, the technical department of our company has concentrated all its efforts, after several months of effort and countless trials, researched and developed the PR-XFYJ model fire pump mechanical emergency start device.
PR-XFYJ type fire pump mechanical manual emergency start device, equipped with both star-delta and autotransformer step-down starting methods. In the event of a control circuit failure within the fire pump control cabinet, preventing the fire pump from automatically starting, and immediate repair being hindered by limitations in personnel quality and time, coupled with the urgency of a fire alarm, this device ensures that under normal power supply conditions, the pump can be forcibly started regardless of the circuit status, guaranteeing timely fire extinguishing.
