Horizontal Film Evaporator
If required, the evaporator size can be customized to meet specific needs.
The traditional vertical film evaporator has a liquid film flowing down the heating wall. The material residence time in this vertical evaporator is determined by flow rate and material viscosity, ranging from a few seconds to a minute. Due to the low product load at the bottom of the evaporator, the evaporation rate is limited, depending on the刮膜 system.
To increase the product's residence time in the evaporator, enhance evaporation rates, or increase the proportion of light components, the use of a horizontal evaporator is necessary. This minimizes the impact of gravity on material residence time. The residence time of this evaporator can be adjusted over a wide range.
In horizontal film evaporators, the material is distributed over the entire evaporating wall in a circular turbulent pattern by the rotor. Unlike vertical film evaporators, where the material flow significantly decreases and results in incomplete film formation due to the evaporation of lighter components during the process, this issue does not occur in horizontal evaporators.
Therefore, the evaporation rate of the material in the horizontal film evaporator is very high, and the proportion of light components evaporated is also high. By increasing the material's residence time, under the thin liquid film and turbulent vacuum conditions, horizontal film evaporators are also used to achieve continuous reactions and reactive distillation.
Advantages of Horizontal Evaporators:
Continuous Distillation Process
High evaporation rate and high proportion of light component distillation
Suited for reactive distillation
