Flange sockets are utilized to fit flanges over pipe ends, allowing the flanges to be movable on the pipe ends. The steel rings or rolled edges serve as the sealing surfaces, and the flange's purpose is to compress them together. It is evident that due to being blocked by the steel rings or rolled edges, the flange sockets do not come into contact with the medium. As the flanges are movable and not directly connected to the pipeline, they are termed as flange sockets, also known as slip-on flanges.
