Electrically heated reactor
Overview
Electrically heated reaction vessels are mainly used in the petroleum, chemical, rubber, pesticide, dye, and food industries for processes such as vulcanization, nitration, hydrogenation, hydrocarbonation, polymerization, and condensation. Examples include reactors, reaction kettles, decomposition pots, and polymerization reactors. The materials are typically stainless steel or carbon steel. These vessels are widely applied in the chemical, food, natural flavoring, food additive, and light industry sectors.
Equipment Structure
The electrically heated reaction kettle is composed of the kettle body, lid, stirrer, jacket, support, and transmission device, as well as the shaft seal device. The material and aperture can be customized according to the user's process requirements. Made of 1Cr18Ni19Ti stainless steel plate, the stirring types generally include anchor, paddle, worm gear, pusher, or frame. It is a cost-effective and easy-to-operate unit that heats the oil in the jacket directly with electric heating rods, achieving high heating temperatures. The reaction kettle consists of the lid, cylinder, jacket, stirrer, shaft seal transmission device, and support. It is suitable for various organic compounds in decomposition, synthesis, cracking, polymerization, and esterification reactions.
Heating methods include electric, oil, gas, water (or cooling), and open flame heating. Jacket types are jacketed and semi-tubular, with jacketed oil heaters featuring flow directing devices. Mixing types generally consist of paddle, anchor, frame, helical, and scraper types. High-speed models include dispersal impeller, turbine, high-shear, and propeller designs, allowing customers to choose based on their process. Transmission types include standard, explosion-proof, electromagnetic speed control, and variable frequency motors. Heat exchangers come in trochoidal pinion, worm, and planetary gearless variable speed designs. Shaft seals are of the standard water-cooled packed, composite Teflon packed, and mechanical seal types. Discharge types include ball valves and lower expansion valves.

The reactor is composed of the vessel body, lid, agitator, electric heating oil jacket, support and transmission unit, shaft seal, and overflow oil trough, and is equipped with electric heating rods and temperature and pressure measuring instruments. (See Figures 1 and 2.) Due to the varying production processes and operating conditions among users, the types of agitation generally include anchor, paddle, turbine, propeller, or frame. The bearing seat comes in two types: suspended or supported. The jacket contains heat medium cylinder oil, heated by electric heating rods, with openings for oil intake, discharge, overflow, venting, and connections for electric heating rods and temperature measurement. The jacket's outer wall is welded with supports, and the vessel body has an outlet for discharging material.
